Kielbasa and Cabbage Soup

The grown-up version of Hot Dog Soup.

  1. Heat oil in large sauce pot over medium heat.
  2. Cook onion 5 minutes until softened.
  3. Add cabbage, turnips, broth, water, bay leaf, caraway seeds, salt, and sugar substitute.
  4. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, partially covered 20 minutes, until vegetables are tender.
  5. Remove bay leaf.
  6. Cut sausage in ½" slices.
  7. Cook 2 – 3 minutes, until lightly browned.
  8. Stir sausage slices and vinegar into soup.
  9. Add salt and pepper to taste.
