Description

Ingredients

  • 450g (1lb) long grain rice
  • 200g (7oz) red lentils
  • 600ml (1 pint) boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

  1. Wash lentils, drain and set aside until required.
  2. Wash rice, drain then place in a medium saucepan and add lentils.
  3. Pour the boiling water, olive oil, salt and give a quick stir. Cover pan and boil for 10 minutes.
  4. After 10 minutes give a quick stir then cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
