Make Your Own Taco Salad

Meat sauce: 1 lb. (at least 80%) lean ground beef 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 pkg. Old El Paso Taco Seasoning Mix 1 can pinto beans, drained (15.5. oz) 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce 1/8 t. pepper, if desired

Salad: 6 cups shredded lettuce 2 cups corn chips 2 medium tomatoes, chopped 1 medium avocado, pitted, peeled and chopped 6 oz (1 1/2 cups) shredded American or Cheddar cheese 3/4 cup Old El Paso Thick N Chunky Salsa Sour cream, if desired

In large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium high heat for 5 to 7 minutes or until beef is thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Drain. Spray 3 1/2 or 4 quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. combine beef mixture and all remaining meat sauce ingredients in sprayed slow cooker; mix well. Cover; cook on low setting for 6 to 8 hours. To serve, place lettuce and corn chips on individual plates. Top each with meat sauce, tomatoes, avocado, cheese, salsa and sour cream. Source: Unknown
