Mandi's Grandma's Caramel Dumplings

Ingredients

Syrup

• 1½ cups sugar
• 2½ cups warm water
• 1 tbsp butter
• dash salt
• 1 tsp vanilla

Batter

• ½ cup sugar
• ½ cup milk
• 1 tbsp butter
• 1 tbsp baking powder
• dash salt
• flour, enough to make batter stiff

Directions

Syrup

1. Brown ½ cup sugar; add remaining 1 cup sugar and rest of ingredients.
2. Boil 10 minutes.

Batter

1. Drop batter in syrup.
2. Bake at 350°F for 15 – 20 minutes.
3. Serve hot or cold.
4. Enjoy.
