Maple Walnut Chippers

2 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. margarine, room temperature 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed 1/4 c. maple syrup 1 egg 1/2 c. walnuts, coarsely chopped 2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375. Mix together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the margarine, sugars, maple syrup and egg. Add the dry ingredients and mix until blended. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet, spacing well apart. Bake for 8 to 10 min, or until cookies are golden brown. Cool for a few minutes on the sheet then remove cookies to a cooking rack.

Makes 6 dozen.
