The Newars are people living mainly in the Capital of Nepal. Their food reflects a very strong dependence on agriculture. Newari food is prepared of the freshest ingredients usually picked from personal gardens. Considered to be among the spicier and more complex of Nepali foods, the main ingredients used would be rice, lentils, meat (usually water buffalo, duck, chicken, mutton), Mustard oil etc.

Some basic Newari food Edit

Bara- Prepared with a paste of lentils flattened on a pan and topped with meat or egg.
Choela- Hay smoked meat tossed with spices and mustard oil.

'Lakhamari- Sweet made up 'of flour, sugar, ghee, etc. Can be stored for many days
