An uncooked breakfast cereal that generally contains rice, corn, oats, cracked rye, barley, millet, flax, soy and triticale, which gives it a coarse texture and earthy taste. If nine-grain cereal is not available, any uncooked multigrain cereal can be substituted. Nine-grain cereal is cooked and eaten as a breakfast cereal and used in baking breads and desserts.
