  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. cream shortening and sugar.
  3. Add egg and beat thoroughly.
  4. Mix in bananas and oats.
  5. Sift together remaining ingredients and add to the banana mixture.
  6. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an oiled cookie sheet about 1½" apart.
  7. Bake for about 12 minutes.
