A light and airy pie to please any sweet tooth! fresh orange flavour accents a smooth chocolate mousse filling.
Ingredients[]
- 1/3 cup (75 ml) butter (or hard margarine)
- 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) chocolate wafer crumbs
- 2 tbsp. (30 ml) icing (confectioner's) sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 ml skim milk powder
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp. (30 ml) butter (or hard margarine), softened
- 2 tbsp. (30 ml) water
- 8 oz. (250 g) block cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) frozen concentrated orange juice, thawed
- 1 tbsp. (15 ml) grated orange zest
- 1 envelope of dessert topping
- 1/2 cup 9125 ml) milk
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) chocolate milk powder
Directions[]
- Melt first amount of butter in small saucepan.
- Remove from heat.
- Add wafer crumbs and icing sugar.
- Stir until well mixed.
- Reserve 2 tbsp. (30 ml) crumb mixture in small bowl.
- Press remaining crumb mixture firmly in bottom and up sides of ungreased 9 inch (23 cm) pie plate.
- Bake in 350°F (175°C) oven for 10 minutes.
- Cool.
- Beat next 4 ingredients in large bowl until combined.
- Add cream cheese and second amount of granulated sugar.
- Beat until smooth.
- Add concentrated orange juice and zest.
- Beat well.
- Beat remaining 3 ingredients with same beaters in medium bowl until smooth and thickened.
- Fold into cream cheese mixture.
- Spread evenly in pie shell.
- Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.
- Chill for at least 3 hours until set.
