A variety of apple from the rose apple family that originated in the East Indies and Malaya. It is a cross between a Gala and a Splendor, with a rosy pink to bright red, thin outer skin. Inside, there is a sweet, crisp white flesh, which resists browning better than most varieties. This apple is often compared to the Fuji in flavor and is good for eating out of hand or for use in fruit salads.
