This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Weir Estate in Canton, Texas in 1990.

  1. Blend eggs and sugar.
  2. Mix flour, salt, soda and spices together then add to egg mixture.
  3. Add milk, oil and preserves then pour into rectangular pan.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes then remove from oven and put lid on pan.
  5. Let steam good for 5 minutes then remove lid.
  6. Drain moisture off and put lid back on.
