Pecan Bars on Cookie Crust

cookie Crust: 1 1/2 cups flour 1/3 cup sugar 1/2 cup butter or margarine

In large bowl of mixer, beat together all the ingredients until mixture resembled coarse meal. Pat mixture evenly into a lightly greased 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 350 for 15 minutes, or until crust is just beginning to take on color. Pecan Filling: 6 t. butter or margarine, melted 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 2 eggs 2 t. vanilla 3/4 cup flour 1 t. baking powder 1 t. cinnamon 1/4 t. salt 2 cups chopped pecans

In large bowl of mixer, beat together first 4 ingredients until blended. Beat in remaining ingredients until blended. Pour mixture into prepared crust and continue baking at 350 for about 20 to 25 minutes or until top is set. Allow to cool in pan. When cool, drizzle with vanilla Glaze. Cut into squares or bars. makes about 40 cookies. Vanilla glaze: 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar 2 T. cream 1/4 t. vanilla Stir together all the ingredients until blended.
