This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Hager Estate in Canton, Texas in 1982.

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Sift dry ingredients together then mix egg,shortening and milk together thoroughly.
  3. Combine mixtures and nuts stirring just enough to dampen flour.
  4. Fill greased muffin pans ⅔ full and bake for 25 minutes.
