- ¼ cup salad or olive oil
- 1½ teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon caraway seed
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 pound sauerkraut, drained
- 2 medium tart apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- ¾ cup grated carrot

- Combine oil, sugar, caraway seed, salt, and vinegar.
- Rinse and drain sauerkraut well; chop.
- Stir into oil mixture.
- Add apples and carrot; toss to mix.
