Ingredients[]
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 lb. ground pork sausage
- 1/4 c. green onions, chopped
- 1-oz. pkg. chili seasoning mix
- 1/2 c. yellow, red or orange pepper, diced
- 1 c. sliced mushrooms
- 15-1/2 oz. can Great Northern or pinto beans
- 14-1/2 oz. can lima beans
- 14-1/2 oz. can Italian-seasoned diced tomatoes
Directions[]
- In a heavy Dutch oven over medium heat, combine beef, sausage and green onions.
- Sauté until browned; drain.
- Stir in seasoning mix, pepper, mushrooms and undrained beans and tomatoes.
- Simmer over low heat until vegetables are soft, about 10 minutes.
- Add enough water to cover ingredients, or to desired consistency.
- Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Yield: Serves 6 to 8
