  1. Mix the Sugar, milk, and rum.
  2. Soak bread in this mixture.
  3. Lift each slice carefully with a wide spatula and dip in beaten egg to cover both sides.
  4. Carefully transfer each slice to a frying-pan in which plenty of butter is quietly sizzling.
  5. Fry golden-brown on both sides.
  6. Sprinkle with Sugar and cinnamon.
