Smooth as silk, yet thick and fudgy - a taste of this sauce is like eating candy.
Ingredients[]
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 (4-ounce) sweet chocolate bar, chopped
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 (5-ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions[]
- Melt butter and chocolate in an heavy saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Stir in sugar, evaporated milk, corn syrup, and salt; cook over medium heat, stirring gently, 5 minutes or just until sugar dissolves and sauce is smooth.
- Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
- Cool to room temperature.
- Pour into gift jars.
- Cover and chill up to 1 month.
- Serve warm.
Yield: 2 cups
