Pecans and almonds are glazed in a sweet, smoky blend oh honey and chipotle peppers. Find chipotle peppers on the Mexican food aisle.

  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves, stirring often.
  3. Stir in nuts.
  4. Spread coated nuts in a single layer in a 15" x 10" jellyroll pan.
  5. Bake at 300° for 20 minutes.
  6. Stir, and bake 10 to 15 more minutes.
  7. Spread warm nuts onto aluminum foil or parchment paper; separate nuts with a fork.
  8. Lightly sprinkle with salt.
  9. Cool before serving.
  10. Store nuts between layers of parchment paper or wax paper in an airtight container up to 3 days.

Yield: 3 1/2 cups
