This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Wadley Estate in Allen, Texas in 1990.

  1. Dump everything except the onion into a crock pot or large pot and let sit for 6-24 hours.
  2. Add the chopped onion and put heat on high.
  3. Check every hour and add extra beer to make sure beans stay covered.
  4. Cook for 8 hours.
