Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups mashed strawberries
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Ice cream - optional
Directions
1.Combine first 5 ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
2.Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, margarine or butter, milk, and vanilla. Drop by spoonfuls into boiling strawberry mix; cook, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Cover; reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Serve with ice cream.
