Sweet Onion Casserole

5 sweet onions, sliced 1 stick butter 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese 2 cups round buttery crackers, crushed

In a medium skillet, saute onions in butter until clear. Place 1/2 of onions in an ungreased 2 quart baking dish; spread 1/2 of cheese over onions. Sprinkle 1/2 of crackers over all; repeat. Bake, uncovered at 350 for 30 minutes. Makes 8 servings. Source: Karen Cary, Marshalltown, IA
