Basic Recipe
  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl.
  2. Stir in milk, sugar, butter, salt, egg and 2 cups of the flour.
  3. Beat until smooth.
  4. Mix in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.
  5. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. #Place in greased bowl; turn greased side up.
  6. Cover; let rise in warm place until double, about 1 1/2 hours. (Dough is ready if an indentation remains when touched.)
  7. Punch down dough. Shape, let rise and bake as directed.
Cinnamon Rolls
  1. Use 1/2 recipe Sweet Roll Dough
  2. Roll dough into rectangle, 15x9 inches, on lightly floured surface;
  3. Spread with butter.
  4. Mix sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over rectangle.
  5. Roll up tightly, beginning at 15-inch side.
  6. Pinch edge of dough into roll to seal well.
  7. Stretch roll to make even.
  8. Cut into nine 1 1/2 inch slices.
  9. Place slightly in greased medium muffin cups, 2 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches.
  10. Let rise until double, about 40 minutes.
  11. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  12. Bake until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes.
  13. Spread rolls with glaze while warm.
Glaze
  1. Mix all ingredients until glaze is smooth and of desired consistency.
