Description
Masterfully Made with an assortment of unique yet flavourful ingredients, fried rice is one of the staple food items in Singapore. It is a wholesome and a nutritional dish that could satiate your appetite as well as your nutritious need at any time of the day. Here is a recipe of this dish which you can make from the comfort of your home with a little bit of culinary know-how.
Ingredients
- Fried Rice
- 1 bowl cooked rice
- 2 T. cooking oil
- 1 t. shrimp paste
- 2 red shallots, sliced
- 2 long beans, sliced
- Honey Chicken
- 120 g. boneless chicken thigh
- 2 T cooking oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 red shallot, sliced
- 1/2 piece ginger, sliced
- 1 T. oyster sauce
- 1 T. palm sugar
- 2 t. honey
- 1 T. sweet sauce
- 1 T. fish sauce
- 3 T. water
- Condiments
- 1 egg, cooked into an omelet and sliced
- 1 red chili, sliced
- 1/2 green mango, shredded
- 1 red shallot, sliced
- 1 Chinese sausage (chicken or pork), sliced and cooked
- 1 t. fried shallots (optional)
- 1 t. dried shrimp (optional)
Directions
- Cut the boneless chicken thighs into bite-sized cubes.
- Into a wok or a hot pan add some oil and then add in sliced garlic and ginger; cook until fragrant
- Add chicken and stir fry
- Add honey, oyster sauce, fish sauce, palm sugar, and sweet sauce
- Mix well to fully coat chicken pieces
- Add some water and simmer until the sauce thickens
- Place a different pan on the stove and heat some more oil
- Add in sliced shallots, shrimp paste and long beans; stir fry until fragrant
- Turn the heat to low and add the rice, mixing well
- To serve, place the fried rice in the middle of a plate with eggs, shredded green mango, honey chicken, sausage, dried shrimp, fried shallots, and sliced red chillies around the rice
Notes
- Best served immediately
- Optionally you can also pour over the honey chicken sauce over the fried rice.
