Thomas Jefferson Candied tomatoes
- 1 T. butter
- 1 Chopped Onion
- 1 Quart tomatoes (canned May be Used)
- 1 Cup brown sugar
- 1/2 T. salt
- 1 T. basil
Melt butter in Skillet And Brown Onion. Add tomatoes, salt, sugar And basil. Simmer Over Low Heat For 4 to 5 Hours ( That's Right,, Honey; The Recipes Says 4 to 5 Hours, Not Minutes) or Until Sticky. Stir Occasionally.Serves 6
