Twyla's Mother's Old Country Rice Pudding

1/2 cup regular white rice 1/4 t. salt 1/2 cup honey 1 can (13 oz) undiluted evaporated milk 3 cups milk 1 T. vanilla Nutmeg

In a 2 quart buttered baking dish combine raw rice, salt, honey, both milks and vanilla. Sprinkle top with nutmeg. Bake uncovered at 300 for 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally with fork to prevent rice from settling. do not stir during last half hour of baking. Note: During the last hour of baking, 1/2 cup golden raisins or diced dates may be added to the pudding. Serves 6 Source: Come Into the Kitchen
