Hi! all,

I am so glad to have found another foodie web site. I love to collect recipes, still love to cook but not as much, as I've been cooking for over 40 years. I love quick and simple recipes now as I've spent my time in the kitchen.

During college, I was a short order cook and learned how to make all kinds of burgers and sandwiches. Can you say chili size and fries?

After college I graduated with a degree in English and wandered around job hunting until I was hired to work as a reporter. I have approximately 10 years reporting experience including some professional food writing. My primary beats though were police and fire reporting, environmental reporting, military affairs reporting and finally governmental affairs reporting.

I've participated in wikiHow and Wikipedia. I've learned all my wiki stuff at WH thanks to Jack, Flickerty and Nicole.

On the food hobby front, I have started several food groups at Yahoo including one that reached approximately 3,000 members. I left that group when I returned to full-time reporting and couldn't run it properly.

I love all food but some favorites include Italian, French, German and Scandinavian. My husband comes from a Norwegian background so we serve a lot of Scandinavian foods during the Christmas holidays. I come from a German background so we eat all kinds of recipes.

Any way, thanks for letting me join.
