This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Steep Estate in Elmo, Texas in 1989.

Ingredients[]
- 2 large deer steaks (or 1 lb. venison)
- ½ cup shortening (or butter)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ cup flour
- 1 large white onion, sliced
- 2 medium green peppers, sliced
Directions[]
- Tenderize steaks with a meat mallet.
- Heat shortening on medium low heat then roll steaks in flour, salt and pepper and place in hot shortening. Brown slightly on one side, then turn.
- Add onions, green pepper, and Worcestershire sauce and sauté slightly on the second side; Serve immediately.
