Western Bean Pot

2 pounds link sausages, halved 3 onions, chopped 3 T. flour 3/4 cup water 3 cans (1 lb. each) pork and beans 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz) 1 bay leaf 1/2 t. salt 3/4 t. thyme 1 t. basil

Brown sausages in a large skillet. Remove sausage form the pan, reserving 1/4 cup fat. Cook onions and flour in fat, stirring until flour is brown. Remove form heat and pour in water, stirring to blend it with the flour and onions. Pour into crock cooker with the remaining ingredients. Stir to blend. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 7 hours.
