This cozy punch is spiced for the season with cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg.
Ingredients[]
- 2 (750-millilitier) bottles semi-dry white wine
- 3 (12-ounce) cans pear nectar
- 1 (6-ounce) package dried apricots
- 1 (5-ounce) package dried apples
- 1 cup golden raisins
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 orange, sliced
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 (3") cinnamon sticks
- 10 cardamom pods
- 1 whole nutmeg, split
Directions[]
- Combine first 8 ingredients in a Dutch oven.
- Place 3 cinnamon sticks, cardamom, nutmeg on a 6" square of cheesecloth; tie with string.
- Add spice bag to wine.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Cover, remove from heat, and steep 1 hour.
- Pour wine through a wire-mesh strainer into a large bowl, discarding spice bag.
- Serve warm, let cool to room temperature, or chill and serve over ice.
Yield: 10 cups
