Description

Makes 6 servings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1 14-1/2-ounce can peeled whole tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pound peeled and deveined shrimp

Directions

  1. Cook onion and garlic in butter in large skillet until tender. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, salt, basil, oregano, horseradish and black pepper.
  2. Simmer 20 minutes or until slightly thickened. Stir in shrimp and cook 10 minutes longer. Serve over hot rice. Sprinkle with cheese, if desired.
